Grassroots Asia is a travel, cooking and photography site for anyone interested in matters Asian

Our hope is to provide interesting material, recipes, links and photographs for those looking to travel to the region, check out some snaps or follow some of the political and economic changes in the region.

The authors have nearly three decades of experience living and working in North, Southeast and South Asia and the Middle East as foreign correspondents, editors or educators.

They are also keen amateur chefs, avid travelers throughout much of the world, international sport editors or developmental and environmental education specialists.

On the educational front, Brenda Bushell has taught at all levels in the region from the elementary school level to the university level and is currently a professor at a Japanese university.

On the media front, Darryl Gibson has been a news agency, newspaper and radio correspondent and iscurrently an editor specializing in Asian affairs at Japan's Kyodo News.
